OFFICIAL LAUNCHING OF ZANZIBAR STATISTICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (ZANSIS)

Office of the Chief Government Statistician (OCGS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Data and Statistics of South Korea (MODS), has officially launched the Zanzibar Statistical Information System (ZANSIS) on Tuesday  2nd December, 2025.

ZANSIS provides statistical information aimed at understanding the overall situation in Zanzibar and analyzing its key industries, thereby contributing to the formulation of future development strategies and economic policies for the region. The statistical classifications of Zanzibar are as follows: 

A. ADMINISTRATION AND GOVERNANCE

B. LAND, CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT

C. POPULATION AND DEMOGRAPHIC STATISTICS

D. SOCIAL STATISTICS

E. ACROECONOMIC STATISTICS

F. PRODUCTION STATISTICS

G. TOURISM STATISTICS

H. TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATION STATISTCIS

ZANSIS offers statistical search features (including growth rate calculation, pivot tables, and chart views) and statistical publications. In addition, ZANSIS provides advanced statistical tools, such as multi-table cross analysis and arithmetic operations that allow users to create custom statistical items.

All statistical information on ZANSIS is also accessible via mobile devices.
