MONTHLY TOURISM STATISTICAL RELEASE, SEPTEMBER 2026

Zanzibar recorded 96,073 international visitors in September 2026, an increase of 14.2 percent compared with 84,154 visitors in September 2025 and decrease of  22.8 percent compared with 124,481 visitors recorded in the preceding month (August 2026).

European tourists dominated the market by accounting for 63.0 percent of the total visitors in September 2026. Country-wise, Italy dominated the tourism market by accounting for 9.9 percent of all visitors entered in September 2026, followed by Germany (8.0 percent), while New Japan less than one percent (0.3 percent) the least.
