MONTHLY TRANSPORT STATISTICAL RELEASE, JULY 2026

Total of  274,136 passengers were handled at the Zanzibar Airport in July 2026, which is an increase of one percent (1.1%)  and by 49.5 percent compared with the corresponding month of the previous year and preceding month respectively. Among the passengers handled at airports, a total of  140,253 passengers were disembarked and  133,883 were embarked.

Disembarked passengers increased by about two percent (1.6%) compared with corresponding month of the previous year and increased by 45.6 percent compared with  preceding month which means that more people were arriving in Zanzibar than the same time in last year. The number of embarked passengers increased by less than one percent (0.6%) compared with corresponding month of the previous year and increased by 53.7 percent compared with preceding month.

Total of  152,110 passengers from international flight were handled at airport, increased by almost two percent (1.5%) compared with corresponding month of the previous year and increased by 52.6 percent compared with preceding month. Among those passengers from international flight,  70,133 were disembarked passengers and 81,977  were embarked.

Total of  122,026 passengers from domestic flight were handled at airports, which increased by less than one percent (0.7%) compared with corresponding month of the previous year and increased by 45.7 percent compared with the preceding month. Among those passengers from domestic flight, 70,120 were disembarked and 51,906 were embarked.
